Phüey

Seattle-based producer & DJ Jesse Lopez, aka Phüey, has been crafting his globally-synthesized sound for the better part of the past decade. Whether through his future bass and Jersey-club influenced debut works out on Fukuoka net-label Yesterday Once More, or through his deep catalog of footwork-influenced tracks under the moniker DJ NHK Guy, Lopez shows no hesitation in warping the limits of any genre in his sights. Of Phüey, Laurent Fintoni of FACT mag writes, “(his work) is a mash of so many influences, samples and ideas it would be pointless to attempt listing any of them. Instead, know that it grabs at so many instantly recognisable signifiers that you’ll be all the happier if you let your guard down and enjoy it."
